Since the age of fourteen, I’ve looked at what I was eating and asked myself, “Does this food clean me or clog me?” That is how I knew I wanted to be in preventive medicine.

I am very passionate about what I do. My philosophy is that everyone wants to feel well, and it is my goal to help each person gain their balance and vitality. My reward comes from making a difference in the lives of my patients. My practice attracts a diverse range of patients with different concerns from all over the map. They include those who have not had success with conventional western medicine, those who cannot tolerate prescription medications, or those seeking a more wholistic approach. Although my main focus is prevention, I specialize in chronic illness with advanced study in immune dysfunction.

I spend time with each patient listening to and thoroughly understanding their problems and concerns. Whether a child with eczema or a senior with sciatica, I offer a plethora of treatment options to support the body’s own existing regenerative capabilities. I do this with personalized nutritional therapeutic diets, vitamin and nutrient repletion, herbal therapy, acupuncture/guasha/cupping/moxibustion, detoxification protocols, hormonal support, and more. I offer specialty testing of hormones, food, environmental sensitivities, nutritional deficiencies, candida, gastrointestinal function and microbial growth, heavy metals, and immune function.

In addition, I am a Certified NADA Specialist and it is most rewarding when someone becomes a non-smoker and is able to quit an addiction. NADA (National Acupuncture Detoxification Association) which is an effective protocol to reduce stress, anxiety, and the cravings from addiction. For more information on NADA click here.

So whether you’re confused about what you should eat or if your health goals have eluded you it is important to consider a more personalized approach that takes your personal preferences, lifestyle, food intolerances combined with proper blood work and possibly genotype markers to create a very personal experience and plan. This approach optimizes overall function; reduces inflammation and oxidative stress; increases metabolism, repair and immune balance. So let’s get started in finding your WELLITUDE!

Experience

My passion for this work comes from many years of rich education and experience which is solidified by additional training in traditional medicine in China.  My eastern medical mindset is balanced with modern western training and understanding.  It is my goal to work cooperatively with physicians and other healthcare practitioners to treat patients wholistically.

Most importantly, I listen to my patients.  We work together to find health and wellness solutions.  I am here to help you understand why your body is reacting in certain ways (or is not reacting).  I will help you develop lifestyle habits that will be beneficial to your complete mind-body wellness.

Donna specializes in autoimmunity, gastrointestinal, cardiovascular, dermatology, and women’s/men’s health.  However, as long as a pattern can be differentiated it can be treated.

Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) is a complete system of medicine with both diagnosis and treatment.  TCM differentiates pattern of disease and treats accordingly.  In other words, TCM does not treat “migraines” but differentiates a headache and treats the pattern, which includes but not limited to possible diagnoses like liver yang rising, blood deficiency, and blood stagnation.  As long as a pattern can be differentiated it can be treated.

Nutrigenomics is the scientific study of the interaction of nutrition and genes, especially with regard to the prevention or treatment of disease.
